The Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles hosted the inaugural Three River Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday consisting of eight member schools; Covington, Bethel, Miami East, Lehman Catholic, Milton-Union, Northridge, Riverside and Troy Christian.
And the Covington cross country program had a huge day as Asher Long won the high school boys race in a time of 16:48.2 and his sister Elyza Long won the high school girls race in a time of 19:59.7.
Plus, the Buccaneer boys won the team title with a score of 40 – 11 points better than runner-up Miami East.
The high school Lady Bucc runners finished third as a team in what was a close contest. Covington finished with 45 points, while Miami East won the team title with 35 points and Milton-Union finished runner-up with 42 points.
The junior high girls also won the team title with 40 points. Kassidy Turner finished a team-high fifth place, while Lucy Welborn came in sixth.
The junior high boys finished fourth as a team with Caleb Ryman leading the team with an eighth place finish.
